Less-Than-Truckload Shipping (LTL) Services

What is Less-Than-Truckload Shipping?

LTL stands for Less-Than-Truckload Shipping. This term describes any shipment that does not require a full truckload (FTL) to ship. Many of our customers ship different shapes and sizes, and often these products or goods do not amount to an entire truck load. In these instances, the shipment will be called an LTL shipment, which can be combined with other LTL shipments from other businesses to maximize space utilized on the truck and help cut down on costs.

How is LTL Organized?

When working with Integrated Global Logistics, your products will be separated onto pallets and placed into a full truckload (typically a truckload is 48 feet or 53 feet) with other Less-Than-Truckload shipments, also separated onto pallets. This process allows everything to fit into the truck, traveling just as a FTL would, with everything reaching its desired destination.

LTL Shipping Carrier Services

At Integrated Global Logistics, our LTL shipping carriers vary. All are enclosed trailers, some have temperature control capabilities for when needed and many are connected to another trailer to increase the load-carrying capacity. These carriers make pickups and deliveries of LTL in a strategic route to maximize efficiencies and we pass those savings on to the consumer.

LTL Shipping Services Costs

We make every effort to be as cost-effective as possible. LTL is by far the most cost-effective shipping option, especially when working with Integrated Global Logistics. Pricing is worked out utilizing a formula based on the number of pallets you need shipped, size, classification of the goods being shipped and weight of the shipment. The distances of your LTL shipment also will affect the pricing. Fuel prices and the time of year may be factors in the prices for your Less-Than-Truckload shipment as well.
